You can just mention it to the technician and they will honor it on the spot. Thank you!
Highly recommend! We just moved using this company today from TN to GA . They are very very hardworking people. I was amazed to see how strong they are. We had some very heavy furniture and they could carry it without complaining. They didn't break anything which I was most concerned about. I liked that they listened and kept each box in respective places. Alex runs a great team.
Such a great experience for a task that everyone hates. I've been referring everyone who is moving between states to Star USA!!! My friend recently moved to Atlanta :( and I love her but had no clue how to start moving let alone packing. Insert Star USA! I ended up taking over her moving logistics and they were there for every step. They helped me price everything, explained how it was going to be packed and the timeline it would arrive. Two weeks later we were ready to go and ready to head to Atlanta! A road trip really challenges a friendship, but we made it and when we pulled up the truck was there! Got her moved in 2 hours later and everything was PERFECT. No scratched furniture, no broken items.
I moved from GA to Florida. And I want to say that star USA is an amazing company! They were so patient and made me feel so good about the move. I was stress free. The company from start to end were with me, and made me feel comfortable about my move. They were on time on the day of the pick up, and they were on time on the date of the delivery. The driver contacted me the whole time while delivering my items! I am pleasant and would recommend this company to anyone! I highly recommend them!
Great experience! Will definitely use them again
Our experience with Star USA Moving was outstanding! We moved from Charlotte to the Hudson River Valley in NY. We went through Allegiance Moving brokers, who provided us with fabulous customer service - I will praise them in a separate review. Star USA Moving is run by a man named Alex. He handles scheduling, paperwork and in our case was at our house to give us an updated quote. Several of the revues here have attacked him for having a higher quote than the brokers estimate. He's been called a crook and much worse. Moving is stressful, and people often only write reviews when upset. Alex thoroughly explained the reasoning for higher quote- He was honest and direct in showing us how the volume of our stuff did require a higher quote. The resulting cost was still under $6000 for five rooms of furniture and 115 boxes - 177 pieces. The actual move was FABULOUS. Our movers in Charlotte were Alex, Ryan, Andre (all employees of Star USA) and Jorge, from Charlotte. They were wonderfully efficient and professional; they went out of their way to carefully wrap many precious and valuable possessions. They were good natured and fun to be with. It's amazing what friendliness and cold drinks on a hot day can do. They originally wanted to deliver the next day but we had to deal with a closing and other details, so they agreed to deliver in 5 days. They carefully stored our items in NYC for no charge, loaded the truck up early Sunday (the 5th day) and arrived in the 2 hour window quoted. This group was led by Wayne and the other movers were Ian and DelRoy. These guy equaled the movers on the other end. They were careful about handling our furniture and boxes and had me check off every item. At the end when we couldn't find three or four items, Wayne rooted through boxes until everything was accounted for. Wow! What service! We had a moving experience that far exceeded our expectations. I urge you to seriously consider Star USA Moving and work with Alex and be realistic about how much stuff you have. I would use this company w/o hesitation if we ever have to move again.
Highly recommended! Star USA Moving assisted my mom with a 2 bedroom apartment move from NC to VA. They were assigned by a broker who had done a terrible job coordinating with us prior to the move day. Star USA was assigned last minute, but did everything they could to accommodate the last minute assignment. I showed up to help just as the movers were arriving, and her apartment was in a state of chaos! The movers were unphased and quickly took an inventory and moved everything to the truck. They arrived promptly in VA and had a great recall for the furniture and where it belonged. Everything arrived undamaged. They even helped me move a mattress that wasn't part of the move to an upstairs bedroom. Great movers! Very friendly and professional.
These guys were so professional and thorough!! Moving can be highly stressful, but they really put my mind at ease with their knowledge, patience, and confidence. They were careful with my things, and they worked super fast! Great experience!
Very good service, I will do it again and recommend them to anyone!
This is the best moving service ever! They are very professional and organized! I will definitely be using them again in the future!
Our experience with Star USA Moving was great! Moving is such a stressful time ... but we were so relieved after we talked to Alex that went through all the details we needed to know. We had such a smooth move and everything was packed so efficiently and quickly. Thank you Alex for a wonderful service! I will definitely recommend you!
Highly recommended. This is the third time I'm using moving company.this time I've moved through the sea in a container. I consulted and looked for a good moving company because I wasn't satisfied with my other movers, and a lot of people recommended Alex. Alex arrived a week before and packed everything in the best and most professional way possible and within a few hours finished packing a complete 7 room fully equipped kitchen and 2 living rooms. when the container arrived we didn't expect it to be that small but Alex and his staff arranged everything like Lego. amazing !!! we were left stunned. They where a pleasure to work with.
Alex and Star USA Moving put mine and my family's move at ease. We had trouble with another moving company previously so we were super skeptical about this move. We used a moving broker who I will never use again (but that's for a different review). After miscommunication with the broker, Alex made us feel comfortable and secure with the upcoming move. We knew exactly what to expect and what we were getting with him. He didn't beat around the bush when telling us things we needed to know. He was thorough with the paperwork AND with the packing. Everything was wrapped professionally and packed. If something seemed important, we were asked if we wanted to keep with us or have packed (something I appreciated since you don't think of things you might need out while moving especially with a husband, baby and a dog). I always knew where my stuff was and what the timeline looked like for delivery. The communication was highly appreciated! Alex and his teamed packed our house, loaded up the truck, drove to a new state, delivered and unloaded in the appropriate rooms. Through the nonstop work and moving, Alex took the time to talk to us and say hi to my curious son. We appreciate Alex and his team so much!

The first thing you need to do is make sure you have your time scheduled out. You might have only a few days to settle in before you have to attend work or school. The worst thing is when you have to start your new schedule and you are stuck trying to locate the things you need to get through a normal day. When you move in your new house you want to make sure you layout a plan with your time. That way you can ensure you get to each room the attention it needs. It is the best way to make sure that no time is being wasted.
Now that you are in the space and you have all your boxes staring at you it is time to start to unload them. The boxes are something that you have to handle but the great thing is that you can take your time as long as the boxes are labeled. You need to start with the essentials and the rooms that you cannot live without. The bathroom and the beds need to be taken care of so that you can start to live. You also may have non essentials that you can leave boxed until you have more time to organize and place.
When you start to move in you will start to see and recognize things about the house that you may have overlooked. There can be hiding storage or details that you can use to make life easier. You can also decide how you want to use the storage to best suit your needs and your belongings. It can take some time of living in the house to really know all about it but the first few days really help to reveal a lot.
Where most moving companies, including Laprom Movers, have insurance available to protect your possessions, it is always worth the investment to invest in additional coverage, particularly for the more valuable items such as computers and electronics, as well as artwork and antiques. In these situations, it is always better to have it and not need it, than to need it, and not have it.
Be sure to collect all of the documents from local doctor and therapy offices, schools, work, and other such paperwork to take along with you. Be sure all of your personal sensitive information is kept in a file and keep with you as you travel to your new home. Include passports, birth certificates, and other such documents as well as.
In many situations, storage may be an advantage or even a requirement. Whether you need temporary or long-term storage, moving experts such as Laprom Movers, have a variety of storage options. Having the moving expert assist with storage options can be extremely beneficial in quite a few ways. Laprom Movers offers storage facility and portable storage containers to offer even more convenience in your storage options.
Additionally, when you know you are moving to new stomping grounds, consider beginning the packing with off-season clothing, holiday decorations, and so forth. Be sure to use appropriate boxes and ensure you label the boxes; especially note the room they belong in.
There are a variety of weather hazards that could pop up the day of your move. First let’s talk about extreme heat. If the day of your move the heat is excessive you run the risk of heat stroke, heat exhaustion, and car problems. You can prepare for this situation by making sure that everyone stays as cool and hydrated as possible. Make sure that you have plenty of cold water bottles onsite for you and your movers. When you take off to make the drive to your new home you will want to make sure that you have a roadside emergency kit that has plenty of extra water in it in case your vehicles overheat. If you take these precautions your move should still go according to plan even with the extreme heat. Rain and snow are also weather hazards that could cause some issues the day of your move. If it is raining profusely you may want to evaluate whether or not you need to postpone your move. You would hate for your belongings to get wet and damaged by the downpour. If there is a snowstorm the day of your move there are a few different problems that you could encounter. The snow may be so high that your moving truck will not be able to make it to your house or drive safely to your new home. It could also prevent you from being able to safely move your belongings out of your old home and into your new home. Severe snowstorms may delay your move from being able to occur. The best way to be prepared for weather hazards is by checking the weather leading up to the big day. Many times you can adjust the date of your move ahead of time to miss the unsightly weather conditions in the forecast.
1. Have a positive attitude. Your attitude can have a lot to do with your happiness. If you expect the moving process to be miserable, it more likely will be. If you try and be positive about it, it can be a good experience. Moving is a time to assess what is important in your life. It gives you the opportunity to get rid of the old stuff that you don’t need and start fresh. Just because moving is stressful doesn’t mean you have to have a complete meltdown. Keep a positive attitude and you can change the entire experience.
2. Learning about or visiting a city before moving. Do some research on the town you’re moving to is the best way to make the transition easier. Find out where the best restaurants are and look for parks near your new home. Check out your child’s new school on the internet and find out where the coffee shop in on your future commute to work. Taking these steps will have you feeling familiar when you get to your new town.
3. Stay organized when moving. Staying organized is a great way to save yourself time and energy during a move. Leave yourself plenty of time categorize, label and pack everything. Moving also entails changing your address, canceling subscriptions and services and making sure your home is nice and clean for the new owners. Think ahead and stay as organized as possible to reduce stress.
4. Use the right moving supplies. Part of staying organized is using the right supplies and hiring professionals when you are in doubt. Even the simplest moves can leave items damaged or broken. The risk becomes higher with long-distance moves so take extra care before and during the move to keep all your belongings safe. Use sturdy boxes, bubble wrap and blankets.
5. Let yourself feel emotions when moving. Moving is a life-changing experience and will come with many emotions. You might feel excitement, sadness, fear and anxiety with the unknown and saying goodbye. Bottling these emotions up will just make you feel more overwhelmed. Lean on your family and friends for support and allow yourself to feel whatever you’re feeling at the given moment to handle the stress that comes with a move.
6. Settle in as quickly as possible. Moving is stressful because it disrupts your regular routine. When you get to your new home, there will be furniture and boxes everywhere. To get things back on track it’s important get the unpacking done as soon as possible. Another way to settle in is to introduce yourself to your new neighbors. Doing so allows you to integrate into your new community and feel more at home.
Transplanting Interior House Plants
The type of plants you are moving will dictate your approach. Typically, the small potted plants are fairly simple, however, the larger or exterior plants can be a little more complex. Your smaller plants can be fitted into an open box, where they have paper stuffing the gaps in between them when it comes time to move. Most moving companies will not assume responsibility for the plants, so you will need to place in them in your vehicle. Be sure to regulate the temperatures as much as possible and place them in an area where they be less disturbed.
How to Transplant Large Potted Plants
Just before moving day, the larger potted plants will require a little more prep, providing a healthy pruning or trimming. Have your plants wrapped in newspaper to protect them and keep them warm should you move during the winter. They are sensitive to temperatures and you will also want them placed on a stable area.
Moving Plants Interstate
On a long-distance move, the plants will need care. Bring them inside with you if you’re stopping overnight and treat them similar to how you will treat the pets on a move. If the temperatures are too hot or cold, they can be subject to damage, and leaving them in the car without ventilation or temperature control can cause damage. A more expensive option is to have your plants shipped if you are concerned with the trip or simply lack the space for them.
Moving Outdoor Plants
Exterior plants are a lot trickier to move and you will need to decide if it is really worth the hassle. Leaving them with the new homeowners or gifting them may be better solutions. If you still insist on bringing them, you will want to make sure they are properly trimmed and pruned, especially the larger plants. The trimming is highly recommended as it helps make the process more manageable as well as attribute to healthy regrowth at your new home. To ensure they stay hydrated for the move, ensure the roots and soil is well-watered before moving day. The smaller plants can have the roots and dirt placed in paper bags to help give them a better chance for your plants to breathe as opposed to plastic bag. You should wrap the root ball in burlap to hold everything together for your larger plants and shrubs. As long as they are kept watered, most plants can stay wrapped like this for weeks. Being sensitive, plants should be kept in the shade as much as possible, and once you arrive at the new home, they should be replanted as quickly as possible. It may take a few weeks to look luscious again as plants need time to acclimate to their new environment.
